1946 Plymouth Special Deluxe with suicide doors. Bought it from a farmer in Spring Hill, Tenn. 1983.
Literally on a stretch of Texas farm road called 'Dead Man's Curve" between Elroy and Austin when I was hit head on. I was lucky but the old '46, not so much, 1991.
When I came back to Texas in 1988, I lived in a one room cabin with a fireplace, on 150 acres with a huge bass pond on it. 25 miles south east of Austin. Paradise for sure.
Thank You Irene & Jim Glass.
1984 during my hitch hiking days. In 1980 I bought this hat from American Hat Co. downtown Houston. It and a red bandana are in almost all my pictures. I still wear that hat after 44 years. It needs a new sweatband though.
Miss Shirley worked as a custodian at the ASCAP building on Music Row. Everybody loved Miss Shirley. The night of my #1 party all the business execs were hob nobbing and trying to get in as many pictures as they could. Miss Shirley was working extremely hard to keep up. I gave her a hug, kiss on the cheek and a shot of champagne. 1986

Houston Marchman & me. Each had a bottle of Mezcal Tequila in the one room efficancy where I wrote my one and only number one song. Houston wrote "Viet Nashville" about our wild times on Lower Broad Nashville back when it was a run down dive, early 1980's. His live version is the one you want to hear. I'm the one called 'Pony Tail Johnny'.
